How to follow a few hundred venture blogs without an inbox full of newsletters, including the feed URLs most sites hide.
Email is a bad place to read. It mixes writing you chose with mail you didn't, and the only tools you get are archive and delete. RSS is the better container for this, and it's quietly had a revival because every Substack and Beehiiv publication ships a feed whether the author advertises it or not.
Substack: add /feed to the publication's address. https://example.substack.com/feed.
Beehiiv: same pattern, /feed.
WordPress, which most firm blogs still run under a redesign: /feed or /blog/feed.
Ghost: /rss.
Medium publications: medium.com/feed/@username or medium.com/feed/publication-name. Worth checking whether they still publish there, because many stopped.
If none of those work, view the page source and search for application/rss+xml. Sites that dropped their visible RSS link often still generate the file.
Feedbin and Inoreader are the two that handle a few hundred feeds without complaining, both paid. NetNewsWire is free, open source and Apple-only. Readwise Reader is the one to look at if you want highlights and read-later in the same place.
Whichever you pick, make folders by how often you want to read, not by sector. A "daily" folder of five and a "weekend" folder of eighty is a system you'll actually keep up with. Folders named "fintech" and "AI" just move the problem.
Our source index is public, and every source page lists where the feed comes from, so you can copy the ones you want straight into a reader. There are a bit over 800 of them, of which roughly 130 publish in any given month, which is the number worth planning around.
If you'd rather not run the pipes yourself, that's the service: we read all of it and send one email on Sunday. But the feeds are yours either way. Being able to leave is the point of RSS.
